Royals top local prep bowling

The Northern Utah High School Bowling League staged its finals on Feb. 16 at Ben Lomond Lanes as eight teams squared off for placement.

Roy's No. 2 squad finished in first, followed by Syracuse No.1 1 and Roy No. 1 right behind.

Roy No. 3 was fourth, followed by Box Elder, Syracuse No. 2 and Morgan.

Falcons seek volleyball coach

With the resignation of Amanda Nelson, who is returning to school, Clearfield High School is seeking a new girls volleyball coach.

Online coaching courses offered

The National Federation of State High School Associations is offering two new online coach education courses - Creating a Safe and Respectful Environment and Fundamentals of Coaching Golf. The courses are now available on the NFHS Coach Education Web site at www.nfhslearn.com.

Creating a Safe and Respectful Environment, which is now available for only $20, provides education for coaches on the critically important topics of inappropriate relationships, hazing, bullying and cyber-bullying.

The second new course, Fundamentals of Coaching Golf, for $50, was developed for the NFHS by the PGA.

All NFHS Coach Education courses are available at www.nfhslearn.com.
